Alan Bateup is a Digital leader with 14 years’ experience in utilising mobile technology, data and a customer centric approach to create valuable services at a global scale.  As global Senior Director, Digital Experience at McDonalds Alan is looking at how digital services, capabilities and culture can help McDonalds create a more convenient and enjoyable experience in over 100 countries. Before McDonalds he lead the Grocery experience and mobile applications product teams for Tesco, implementing agile and lean design to enable rapid and data driven product development.  

Prior to Tesco Alan has worked in the mobile technology space with Vodafone, Sony and Real Networks. Highlights include building Vodafone’s first global mobile content ecommerce platform, leading the merchandising and content operations teams for one of the first mobile streaming services and creating CRM solutions for a Czech mobile operator.

  Originally from New Zealand he has lived and worked in Auckland, Prague, Salzburg and now resides in North London.
